The history of Internet is not much longer from ARPAnet(Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), But general work transactions, search an information, e-mail.. etc through the internet is an usual life recently.
The tremendous changes are taking place in the activity of personal and company which is nobody imagine it several years ago. Especially, the electronic commerce between enterprise and enterprise is coming to us as a huge wave of new business.
Integration and collaboration is important issues in the e-business, from B2B to E-Commerce, in the internet. The most important issue is the standard of transaction of data and document. Companies should exchange documents and data with their business partners and increase productivity, efficiency and quality of service.
But current internet is not satisfied to these requirements and necessities. Because existing internet could not solve the quality of contents issue among two parts of internet issues-speed and quality of contents.
There are a lot of problems to solve in the current internet standard document, HTML and general document format, DOC, PPT, PDF… etc, which are being used in G2G, G2B, G4C, B2B, B2C.
XML(eXtensible Markup Language) which has been announced as a standard document by W3C in 1998 is a new counterproposal to solve these problems.
(Creation, Record, Preservation, Sharing of information should be easy and convenient.)

• How to decrease the cost, time and man power to exchange the information and documents between system and system?
• How to substitute for the weak point of reuse and update of HTML by using XML?
And HTML is very successful by HTML on HTTP.
But we should solve the contents of quality in internet by using HTML. Because HTML information which has been designed for display is difficult to reuse and preserve.
XML had been announced by W3C in 1998 to reinforce and substitute the weakness of HTML. User can exchange a lot of Purchase Order, Agreement, Order Request, Payment Request by XML document through internet.
To realize to exchange XML documents, We need a way to create and exchange a XML document in bulk by anywhere, anytime, anybody. It is possible through XML on HTTP. It is very important. Because XML document can be exchanged promptly when it created if XML on HTTP is possible. XML on HTTP is much beneficial against other web service platform.
To create and exchange XML document through application area, you need additional protocols like SOAP, FTP, SMTP,, etc and should develop additional applications to display XML data. It needs a lot of time, cost and man power.

When the XML announced as the next generation of standard internet document in 1998, we had been expecting that XML would be widely distributed instead of HTML. Currently, a lot of enterprises are researching and developing XML technology and the soultions and applications based on XML are being adopted as a standard in various industry areas like trade, steal, laws, e-commerce, health care, automobile, etc and e-business industry like B2B, B2C, G2G, G4C and G2B and so forth.
But, in effect, the standard XML technologies (e.g. XML, CSS, XSL, DTD, Schema, XLink, Xpointer, Xpath, etc) by W3C are not being used in wide spread for making various kind of contents and applying various kind of soultions because of lack of researchs of core technology of XML, XML experts and wrong perception of XML. After all, lots of IT solution providers are trying to solve these problems by application technology and the legacy document technology. The various kind of technologies and applications like Web Service, XHTML, RSS, InfoPath, ODF, OOXML, etc are evolving with the PureXML by W3C to make up for the weak points of current XML.
The design goals of XML by W3C are being diluted with MixedXML.
A lot of IT solution providers are trying to develop and advance XML technology combine with current IT technologies (e.g. COM technology, legacy document technology, Print technology, etc).
